Nziza Hospitality

The remote and unspoilt Meur National Park lies between Mount Kenya and the Nyambeni Mountains and is just 10 kilometres North of the equator.

It is semi arid but has good permanent water carried by no less than thirteen rivers and springs. This precious water sustains good game densities and diverse habitat from thick bush to vast open plains. As well as the prized rare Northern species of Grevy’s  zebra, gerenuk, reticulated giraffe and Somali ostrich Meru is home to lion, cheetah, leopard, buffalo, hippo, crocodile as well as rhino in a carefully protected special reserve.

Made famous by Joy Adamson’s book ‘Born Free’ which was also made into a film staring Virginia McKenna and Bill Travers, Meru is a breathtaking and, largely due to its remoteness, little visited park.

Those that make the journey are rewarded with almost exclusive access to this precious place.
