This mountainous island rising from arid lowlands reaches an impressive 2,200 meters above sea level. A completely unique environment and home to over 200 bird species, more than 150 butterfly species and the melanistic leopard, lion, forest elephant and the rare De Brazza monkey as well as giant cedar trees and a rare species of ancient cycad, one of the oldest plant types on the planet.
